Your game progress

TriviaDrift saves your nickname, scores, settings, unfinished game and which questions you have seen in this browser’s local storage. Clearing your browser data removes those records. Older local game records remain private in this browser and are not uploaded to the leaderboard. Daily games use a server-owned attempt, answers, timer and score so scores cannot be supplied directly by the browser. An essential cookie (up to 30 days), stored only as a hash, identifies a guest player; verified accounts own their attempts across sign-ins. Practice and older local history are not automatically synced across devices. When a new round is requested, TriviaDrift receives the IDs and last-seen times of questions already played to avoid repeats; this selection history is not stored as a player profile on the server.

Moving from Wonderhop

Use Restore Wonderhop progress in the browser where you played on wonderhop.org to copy your local scores, unfinished game and preferences to TriviaDrift. The old save is left unchanged, and the new site keeps existing progress when merging saves. Automatic recovery briefly visits the old domain in this browser, then returns to TriviaDrift. The compressed save and existing sign-in capability travel in an encrypted, one-use transfer on Cloudflare, valid for two minutes and deleted when redeemed. Manual recovery copies game records directly between the two browser windows. Restoring an existing sign-in or guest purchase uses an encrypted, one-use transfer stored temporarily by Cloudflare. It expires after two minutes; expired transfers are removed by a scheduled cleanup. An existing sign-in or purchase capability on TriviaDrift is kept. Optional analytics consent is not transferred. This recovery does not create cross-device game syncing.

Optional public leaderboard

Joining is optional. We publish only your chosen public nickname, verified completed daily scores and rank. Email addresses, account identifiers and typed answers are not public. Each mode permits one server attempt per UTC day. The question timer continues when you leave a game or open a menu. Games started privately stay private even if you join later. Older local scores are kept in My history and cannot be submitted as verified results. Use Leaderboard settings → Play privately to hide your public scores. Server attempts are retained to resume play, enforce the daily limit and calculate rankings; contact support for deletion requests.

Your account and payments

When you buy as a guest, we use an essential browser cookie and its server-side hash to connect this browser to its own checkout and paid access. This cookie lasts up to 30 days. After a successful payment, we link the purchase to the checkout email and send a purchase confirmation. Entering an email at checkout does not sign you in to an existing account. When you verify an email link, we store your email address, a hashed account session token and account timestamps. Sign-in links expire after 15 minutes and can be used once. Sessions last up to 30 days; signing out removes the current server session. Purchase confirmations and email access links are transactional messages, separate from optional daily reminders.

Stripe handles your payment details. We store Stripe customer, checkout, subscription and payment references, your plan, amounts, billing state and paid access periods. We do not receive or store full card numbers. Payment records may be retained for accounting, fraud prevention and dispute handling. Cloudflare hosts our account database and email service. Application logs avoid email addresses, session tokens and secret keys.

Question feedback and rewards

When you report a question, we store its ID and version, the question you saw, your answer, language, game mode, issue type and any explanation you provide. An essential browser cookie, stored as a hash on the server, keeps guest reports private to that browser for up to 180 days. Verifying your email lets you bind those reports to your account, including when you open the verification email on another device.

Your reports and review notes are visible only to you and the review team. We retain accepted contribution records and voucher history to apply the one-earned-reward-per-account rule and prevent duplicate claims. Gift links are private capabilities; only their hashes are stored. Account and reward data stays separate from Stripe billing. Reward availability and completed fixes may trigger transactional emails; these do not subscribe you to daily reminders. Operator summaries contain counts and the review link, without player emails, answers or gift links. Contact support to request access to or deletion of your feedback data.

Optional analytics and session replay

With your permission, Google Analytics 4, Microsoft Clarity and PostHog measure visits, game starts and completions, plan selection and checkout navigation. These services may process device, browser, approximate location, page and interaction information, and use cookies or local storage to distinguish visits. PostHog data is hosted in the United States. We do not send your email, nickname, typed answers or account identifiers as analytics events, and we do not enable advertising personalization.

Clarity and PostHog may record masked session replays to help us understand navigation problems. Inputs and text are masked; account and nickname panels are excluded from PostHog recordings. Network request bodies, response bodies and console logs are not included in PostHog replays. Login, payment-return and other sensitive query URLs are excluded from optional analytics.

Optional tools load only after you select Allow analytics. Essential only keeps them off without limiting the game. Your choice is saved for 180 days. Use at any time to change it. Withdrawing consent stops collection on this browser, removes its first-party analytics identifiers and reloads the page; saved game progress remains. A Global Privacy Control signal keeps optional analytics off. Previously collected data is not automatically deleted; contact us to make a data request.

Read the providers’ information: Google, Microsoft and PostHog.

Optional daily reminders

When you request a reminder, we store your email address, confirmation and unsubscribe state, consent version, and the time of your request. Reminders begin only after you confirm your email. We send one reminder per UTC day, starting the day after confirmation. These emails are for the game you subscribed to; we do not sell your email address or send unrelated marketing.

Cloudflare processes the subscription data and sends the emails. We store delivery status and retry information for up to 30 days. A hashed, rotating request identifier helps limit abuse; our application does not store your raw IP address in the subscription database.

Unsubscribe and retention

Every daily reminder email includes an unsubscribe link. Open it and select Unsubscribe, or use your mail app’s unsubscribe action. This stops queued future reminders; a message already being sent may still arrive. To restart reminders, subscribe and confirm again.

Unconfirmed requests are removed within about eight days. Unsubscribed records are removed after 30 days. Suppression records may be retained to prevent repeated sends to an address that cannot receive email. Old delivery records are removed after 30 days.
